Manisha Pillay (she/her) was born in Durban, South Africa, nurtured in a community of human rights activists. She is currently writing her first children's picture book Becoming Sound: Healing Fairies, after some years reading and telling stories to her two children. Her studies in Geography, a childhood spent wandering the natural landscape of South Africa with her mother and her people and her value of appreciating beingness through ancestral cultural practices all imbue her debut children's book. @famstereo
