With the 2024 election results and the current state when it comes to reproductive justice it’s transparent what can be expected. Reproductive justice has been a sensitive topic for years, juggling women’s rights to basic reproductive rights to their own body. This issue has become a political topic putting the rights of women in the hands of the government, men. It’s something that women have been and will continue to fight for decades to be able to have proper access to reproductive rights and to further strengthen the rights of women as a whole. Currently the state that reproductive rights are in is concerning women all over the country. Now that Roe V Wade has been overturned we don’t know what we can expect when it comes to reproductive justice and reproductive rights. Now that abortions have been criminalized throughout the country making it more difficult to access such services and even making it more difficult to obtain contraceptives when it comes to reproductive health. The picture I have drawn depicts a woman having an abortion and both the doctor and woman are in handcuffs now that it has been criminalized to have such a procedure done. This is an issue that has unfortunately been taken away from women and it’s something that women won’t stop fighting for. Now that the results of the election have many people at the edge of their seat when it comes to women’s right to reproductive freedom we can only hope for the best of what’s to come and hope our rights to bodily autonomy will prevail and not be further diminished.
