My Body, My Choice, When Will It End?

I drew a picture of a woman naked, labeled “my body, my choice” while being surrounded by other images depicting birth control, a uterus, and abortion. I wanted to focus on birth control, abortion, and women’s freedom of choice of what they want to use and do to their bodies. Women have always had to fight for their rights and right now, we have more resources and options available than ever before. There are obviously women out here who are low-income and don’t have access to these resources but this is a step in the right direction, we still have more work to do. Many birth control options have consequences for women such as headaches, dizziness, cramps, high blood pressure, bloating, nausea, weight gain, mood changes, and even depression. It is not fair, women deal with enough obstacles in the world and now they have to endure these side effects just to avoid pregnancy. With abortions, our rights are being taken away, women have fought so hard to have the freedom of choice and now our choice for wanting or not wanting children is being taken away from us. Taking someone’s choice away especially forcing them to have a child they don’t want or are prepared for helps nobody. Having safe abortions keeps everyone safe, abortions will still happen but it will be extremely dangerous and unsafe. We took a step forward with the birth control options and ability to have safe abortions but we are taking steps backward. Women have had their choice and freedom
taken away before and they fought hard for it and now it is happening again. When will it end?
