The Goddess of Venus represents love, beauty, femininity, sex, desire, and prosperity. I chose the Goddess of Venus because femininity can look so different for everyone. I remember growing up and like many young girls, we are curious about discovering our identity and where we fit in with everyone. I remember thinking that I wanted to be a tomboy and at the time my association with being a tomboy was just to be cool. I grew up with my brother and his friends and I didn’t see myself being really girly like other girls my age. I wanted to seem cool and strong. I used to wear basketball shorts and graphic tees as a kid thinking that it would make me stand apart from the other girls. But then I noticed that I started having innocent crushes on boys but they didn’t really see me the way I wanted them to. I then realized that I would need to soften my appearance and I really found my love for beauty and makeup. I love makeup and how transformative it can be. When I am glammed, I feel most tapped into my femininity.
