When I was young, I was told
that women should always be
pure and proper. Women should
always speak politely and softly.
Women should not wear a lot of
makeup. Women should dress
plainly and modestly. Women should
never talk back to those with authority.
I was told that I have to abide by these rules
otherwise, I would be considered a fool. I felt
restricted in the place I call home. But I continued
on and persisted.
Fast forward to present day, I learned that I did
not have to obey. I found some courage along the
way and decided to disobey. I no longer live my life
according to these rules and bask in the freedom to
explore what I want.
