Malaya Midwifery
Queer Pilipinx Midwife

Jhoanna Galvez is a Queer Pilipinx Midwife, educator, and creator. They founded Malaya Midwifery in 2015 and have been proudly living and serving on Tongva territory. Jhoanna is a provider/ kasama / a witness to people as they dive deep into their power. This is a dance of science, tradition, intuition, movement, affirmations, and evidence. Jhoanna is indigenous-inspired; born and raised in the diaspora.
They author informed consent/ refusal forms and craft birth poetry. They find calm in crocheting parts of the reproductive system, find flow on a paddle board, and treasure connection with community. They celebrate the expansive possibilities of pleasure and all its expressions.
