Blooming Paths to Reproductive Justice

In my artwork, the uterus is at the center, showing how important women’s reproductive health and rights are. But it’s not alone—it’s surrounded by lots of flowers. Each flower represents a different part of the journey towards reproductive freedom. This art piece is like a message of hope. It shows that even when things are tough, the fight for reproductive justice keeps growing and getting stronger, just like flowers thriving in hard times.

Reproductive justice means every woman has the right to make her own choices about her body, sexuality, and the ability of having children, without anyone forcing her or discriminating against her. But making this a reality means dealing with the many tough challenges women face in getting and using their reproductive rights. Around the world, lots of women can’t get basic things like birth control, prenatal care, or safe abortions. This is often due to systemic barriers such as poverty, geographic isolation, and restrictive laws and policies. Consequently, women may be compelled to postpone or entirely forego essential reproductive healthcare, putting their health and overall well-being at risk. Addressing these challenges requires a holistic and intersectional approach to reproductive justice. It requires centering the voices and experiences of those most affected and advocating for policies and practices that respect and protect women’s rights to control their own bodies and lives.
