A Hidden Garden

This Hidden Garden represented is the garden that woman contain within themselves. The shape in which these vines grow is meant to outline the reproductive system specifically the uterus. On the right hand side the vines, and flowers are blooming, there is life, there is joy, there is prosperity. This is to highlight the powerful and valuable knowledge about the women reproductive system being utilized by young women. It represents the right to their own bodies, the right to the knowledge of their bodies, of their decisions, and their protection regardless of societal and cultural views. The red rose is meant to represent my mother while the blue tulip is meant to represent myself. On the left hand side these vines and flowers are dying, they are no longer prospering, they have no growth, no hope. Such events is to signify the oppression woman face, their struggles within deceiving knowledge of their bodies, within deceitful  actions towards their bodies , often implemented by cultural but many times by societal views. Society had purposely hidden this garden from woman, they have stripped woman of their own property and their own human rights. Many times in Hispanic cultures and also due to religion any aspect of the woman reproductive system is very much ignored and hidden. Many woman are merely told to “wait till married” yet they are not given any explanation of what is happening within their bodies. Society has always shunned woman from their own rights to their body, they have created an ignorance in their lives and knowledge. This is represented through the Hidden Garden woman find within themselves.
